Intermediate Gunfighting • Real-World Defensive Positions • Live Fire

A gunfight won’t wait for you to have perfect footing.

You may slip, fall, get knocked down, or be forced into unconventional positions during a violent encounter. If your training only works when you’re standing still, it will fail you when you need it most.

The Ground Up Fighter / Ground Up Operator course is designed to teach the intermediate gunfighter how to dominate the fight from the ground up—literally.

This is where theory ends and real-world performance begins.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course focuses on weapon deployment, retention, manipulation, and movement from positions other than standing. You will learn how to fight effectively when the threat comes fast, the environment is chaotic, and gravity is not on your side.

✔ Fighting From Your Back

  • Drawing from the holster while supine

  • Strong-hand and support-hand engagement

  • Shooting from your back without flagging yourself

  • Utilizing legs, hips, and environment for stability

✔ Fighting From Seated Positions

  • Vehicle-based threat crossover

  • Chair, ground, curb, and confined-space shooting

  • Managing angles and “dead zones” when mobility is reduced

✔ Fighting From Kneeling & Asymmetric Positions

  • High-kneel/low-kneel transitions

  • Maintaining balance while engaging

  • Clearing clothing and presenting safely under load

✔ Ground-Based Reloads & Malfunction

  • Emergency and tactical reloads from compromised positions

  • One-handed malfunction clearing while grounded

  • Environmental aids (belt, holster, ground, vehicle, barriers)

✔ Getting Up Under Fire

  • Safe and tactical methods to regain your feet

  • Movement sequencing to avoid exposing vital zones

  • Shooting while transitioning from ground to standing

✔ Positional Dominance & Weapon Retention

  • Preventing weapon grabs from ground positions

  • Retaining your firearm during a scramble or assault

  • Creating space and angle advantage during entanglements

WHY THIS COURSE MATTERS

Real fights aren’t picture perfect.

You will not have ideal stance, ideal balance, or ideal timing. You must be able to fight where you land—on gravel, concrete, grass, tile, or inside a vehicle.

This course builds the skill set that separates trained shooters from real fighters.

If you cannot run your weapon on your back, you cannot call yourself prepared.

This is the training nobody wants to do—but everybody needs.

TRAINING FORMAT

  • Intermediate Level Gunfighters

  • All Live Fire

  • Hands-On Coaching & Real-Time Correction

  • Small Class Sizes for Maximum Safety & Skill Development

HTS courses are intentionally capped to provide 1-on-1, tailored instruction, ensuring every client leaves with real-world, functional capability—not theory.

When the fight goes to the ground, you must still win.

Train for it. Prepare for it. Become a Ground Up Operator.
